'Kasper writes a charming and original fantasy with much thought and description going into her world. Regular races of beings we all know and love are mingled together nicely with a few of Beaumont's own creation. In Reloria, we are introduced to a world that has many similarities to our own but with significant differences. All the characters are commendably written, each complete with their own personalities that stand apart from the others. The dragon is also a nice touch, adding to the interesting blend of characters. I wasn't sure what to make of the fairies at first but they soon grew |
on me as their bond to the halflings became more developed. The story was interesting and engaging and while perhaps a bit slow to begin, (as it often is in the first book of any fantasy series) once the action heats up and more characters are introduced, Elven Jewel becomes difficult to put down. |
