Author interview: Hi Gwen, thanks for joining me on the Fantasy Sci-Fi Network couch and sharing your world of Evermore with us. Gwen: Thanks for having me Kasper. I'm looking forward to it. Pandora's Box sounds very exciting. What led you to writing about magic and fantasy? I love the Fantasy genre it allows me to dive into a world no one else has been in before. I don’t have to worry about it being correct, because it is my own imagination. |
I have for several of my characters some know who they are. While others have no idea. One of my main characters Pearl has a bit of my Grandmother in her which is why I love her.
That is so sweet to include a loved family member in your books.
Which one of your characters would you like to be?:
For sure Ariana she is so strong and ready to take on the world. She has no idea what is in store for her out there but she is ready to find out.
What song would you choose as the theme song of your book?:
For Shadows of Pandora it is “Safe and Sound”. The first time I heard it I knew it was the song for my book.
What are you working on now? I am finishing the last bits of House on the Hill a Paranormal/ Fantasy book. I am also working on Premonition book 2 in the trilogy. It sounds like you're one busy lady, writing two books at once. Well done! If you ever get some downtime, what type of books do you like to read? Fantasy, Romance, Murder Mystery’s, Paranormal. Basically anything I can get my hands on. Who are your favourite authors?: J.K. Rowling, F.Scott Fitzgerald, Shelly Crane, Mary Higgins Clark, J.R.R. Tolkin. |
I have two. “Not all who wander are lost.”~J.R.R. Tolkin.
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the lights.” ~J.K. Rowling.
Which book character are you most like and why?
Hermione Granger. I always have my nose in a book. She made smart beautiful and I love her for that. I am a tad like Luna too I can be quirky
.
Cool! I must say though, that my first thought was of Hermione as the ultra annoying and smug 11 year old who entered Hogwarts. She certainly developed into an inspiring character. I'm definitely seeing you as a leader of Dumbledore's Army.
Who inspires you?:
J.K. Rowling, She is my hero! She gave me the courage to write again. I had stopped writing in Highschool because I was told that it was a dead art and I should find something better to do.
I had gone through a hard time in my life and my now husband told me I should read Harry. I did and I fell in love with the character. I felt for them I related to Harry so well.
I then learned Jo’s story and I knew I could actually write again. She was pushed down and kept coming back. Jo is my hero she helped me feel that writing could actually be a possibility for me.
I bet she would be stoked to hear how much her writing has meant for you.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing?:
Reading! And Gaming as well.
Where do you like to travel to?
London, Paris, and Back to NY
What’s your favourite pet?
Dog but if I could have any animal it would be a Wolf or a Dragon.
What’s your experience of the fantasy sci-fi network?:
It has been great so far the people here are so welcoming.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:
My hope is to be a NY Times bestseller by then J
Now, that we would like to see. Thanks so much for stopping by the FSFN couch today and sharing your thoughts with us. All the best for your Evermore Trilogy.
