Every author has someone who they admire and wish to emulate and this is the concept behind the new 'Inspired by' anthology from the Writers' Anthology Group (WAG). This is the 2nd year I have participated in the anthology and this time I had the pleasure of writing with 2 budding authors from the local high school. Kyla is a twelve year old who loves to read, dance, play music and has now added writing to her repertoire. My 2nd co-author is my son Bailey who has a great imagination and comes up with great ideas for the Hunters of Reloria series. |
I first met Kyla at my 2nd book launch, Hunter's Quest. She had read Elven Jewel already and was so excited to meet me. Me too, for she was one of the first fans of the series I had the pleasure to meet. She came dressed a Sienna the Huntress and won the 'best costume' award. Kyla and I wrote a short story about Sienna the Huntress when she was a young girl and was left all alone in the Wild Woods with her bond-fairy. The halfling must rescue her fairy by using her father's bow and arrows and thus this is the point where she becomes a huntress. |
Bailey has had 2 short stories published previously in the Write for Fun competitions. He enjoys fantasy and writing and likes to contribute ideas to the Hunters of Reloria series. Bailey and I wrote a story about young Fandri and the circumstances which lead to him running away from home to seek adventures with his bond-fairy. |
