Descriptions:
Notes: There is an orange planet significantly larger than the moon in the Relorian sky.
Please create artwork in the portrait style, ie: long picture edge is vertical.
Descriptions of pictures required:
Story 1: Raja the dwarf and Nanine the elf in the Elven library
A dwarf and elf travel to a long-lost library to discover ancient secrets.
Raja: 20 year old Raja has bright red-haired in braids with a short beard. Raja plays the pan pipes and has a two-headed battle-axe and a throwing axe strapped to his back. He is shorter than the elf's shoulder.
Nanine: This elf has long black hair, pale skin and pale blue eyes. She is slender and wears practical clothes for travelling. As with all elves, her features are dainty including pointed ears. Her age is indeterminate.
Library: The octagonal room has black and rose marble columns joined up to elegant archways which flow together into suspended lights with warm creamy hues. The walls hold four stories' worth of books on each of eight walls. Access to the upper levels is gained by spiral staircases all in white in each corner.
Story 2: Squire's championship
Squire Varnon is competing in the trials to become a knight. The desired picture would be of Varnon holding his sword with Lady Elsabet watching him from a distance in a grassy field.
Varnon: 18 years old and sometimes arrogant, he pays little heed to the maiden who watches him. He has shoulder-length wavy blond hair and the beginnings of a curly beard. He wears a tabard and hose and carries a two-handed sword.
Lady Elsabet: A pretty 18 year-old lady who wears a flowing dress with large sleeves and carries a lace-trimmed handkerchief.
Setting: a grassy field with colourful pavilions
Story 3: A baby mage discovers her powers
In the weird and wacky land of Nnanell, anything is possible. This story has our little toddler flying her cot out the window of her blue mushroom-shaped house. She glides through pink clouds. She lands next to a tree with orange leaves and eats ice cream from its plate-shaped leaves. A story of utter whimsy.
Violetta: Around 2 or 3 years old with a tangle of black curly hair and a white nightie. She has pink skin and big violet eyes.
Story 4: Elves on horseback
Daeron and his feisty princess are on their daily ride. Shari-Rose is using her elven agility to stand on her horse as they canter along. One picture can be of the elves on horseback and another would be of Daeron holding onto Shari-Rose as she dangles down the side of a cliff.
Daeron: A mature guardian elf with long white hair tied with a leather band and pale blue eyes
Shari-Rose: An 18 year old elven princess. Her hair is blonde with a touch of red and her eyes are green
Story 5: Garass & Asher
I already have the cover for this one, but you know how much I love dragons. There will be one prize for a picture to go inside the book.
There are three dragons in this story: One grey dragon with green under the wings and yellow-green eyes - Ash
Two jet black dragons with black eyes - Garass and Larissa
The setting is the crater of an active volcano called Flame Mountain. The two male dragons fight over the female.
Note: The pictures inside the ebooks may appear in either colour or black and white in ereaders, and will be in black and white in printed books. They are not likely to be printed in paperback for a couple of years until there are sufficient short stories to warrant printing.
The short stories are prequels to the Hunters of Reloria series. Here are some pictures of Raja, Varnon, Violetta, Daeron and Shari-Rose when they are older in the series. I thought they might be of inspiration when you are picturing the younger characters.
