The fantasy art competition was a great success and we'd love to run another one when the Hunters' Quest book is released over the Christmas holidays.
Have a great day, from Kasper.
The Audience Choice award goes to 9 year old Rory for her cute elf drawing. Congratulations!8/31/2013
I'm so excited to announce another winner and am pleased that it was a different entry, so we could share the winnings around. We had so many great entries and this one received lots of positive feedback. Well done to you, Rory, and to all the young artists. We'll get the prize to you in the next couple of days. The fantasy art competition was a great success and we'd love to run another one when the Hunters' Quest book is released over the Christmas holidays. Have a great day, from Kasper. Wow. It's been a blast delivering prizes to awesome young artists and there's only one prize left. Vote with a like or share for your favourite pic in our fantasy art folder. $50 Audience Choice Award. I'm excited in a knee-trembling kinda way. Wow, it'll be great to be able to share my paperback books with you all when they come and maybe I can do some giveaways and book signing. I don't know much about it yet, but will keep you posted. Cheers, Kasper :-) Now it's the audience's chance to vote, so register your vote in the fantasy art competition by a like or share for your favourite pic in the fantasy art folder. Ends 31/8/13 This is such an amazing picture. The art teachers were very impressed with the facial features and the fingers (which are apparently very difficult to draw). Well done to Mae Mai aged 15 years old, who won $150. All the entries and prizes can be viewed at www.huntersofreloria.weebly.com/art-competition Thank-you to everyone who participated. You will all receive a certificate and small prize. All three judges were very impressed with the runner-up entry by young Riley. Only one picture left. Can you guess who is the winner? Well done Louise. All three judges liked the colours and design of your painting. We bet you get lots of compliments when you wear this T-shirt. Thanks for entering and we hope you'll enter again next time. Enjoy your prize. Sorry to keep you waiting so long. Here's our first winner named Matthew. The judges were impressed with his interpretation of the baddies from Elven Jewel. Well done. More winners coming soon. It's been a tough decision, but the judges' result will be available tomorrow.....watch this space8/23/2013
Judging the winning entry for the back cover of Elven Jewel has been difficult, even for our special guest art teacher judges. We are so impressed with the high calibre of entries and thank all the artists for entering. In fact we are so amazed that we have given everyone a prize! Results will be available tomorrow, so keep your eyes on the Hunters page. Thanks so much to all our entrants, from Kasper. All work and no play makes Kasper a dull author, therefore I chucked in the Uni work today and headed off to the movies to check out Elysium. I wasn't disappointed either. If you like the Matrix-type of movies, then I think you'll enjoy this one. The plot consists of Matt Damon's character Max who lives in an overpopulated future Earth with no hope of a better life. Since childhood, he and his friend Frey (played by Alice Braga) have dreamed of escaping Earth and living in the amazing spaceworld of Elysium, where hunger and illness have been eliminated. Of course everyone on Earth wants to escape their crowded planet, so the billionaires on Elysium have appointed a Secretary of Defense (played by the ever-capable Jodie Foster) to destroy or turn back any refugees from Earth. It struck me as being like pushing back the asylum seeker boats. While the plot is fairly simplistic, there are interesting elements of technology which I enjoyed, such as the personal force field, exo-skeletons and USBs plugging into the brain. The action is fast paced and too violent for younger viewers, but older teens will love the fighting and special effect with cool flying cars thrown in. Buckle up and enjoy the ride! Elysium is out now in cinemas. Kasper rating 4 stars * * * * |
