Rainbow bubbles courtesy of Jay Laga'aia (of Star Wars fame) on Play School. You add food colouring to bubble mixture and blow it out through straws onto the paper. It's heaps of fun and makes a really cool and original piece of artwork. Smiles all around.
Ready your brushes for a new fantasy art competition. Make sure you book your seat for the book launch to be one of the first to hear the details. We're excited! http://huntersofreloria.weebly.com/elven-jewel-book-launch.html I'm after a new pic for the back cover of Hunters' Quest and want to run another fantasy art competition. This was the last winning entry, done by Mae Mei and it's on the back cover of Elven Jewel paperbacks. Bailey has started typing up new character descriptions for the Hunters' Quest book and I was wondering if any fans had suggestions of what we can do. After the last competition I realised that voting by sharing means that people can vote more than once, so I might have to restrict that this time to voting only on the Hunters' page. Anyway, please let me know what you think. Under Australian laws I can only award prizes to Australian entrants, but I would be happy to display artwork by others. Cheers, Kasper. Picture: ' Fendi' by Mae Mai. Welcome all. Please check out the Elven Jewel novel, now available in ebook and paperback. It's an exciting fantasy adventure, ideal for Lord of the Rings fans and all those would like a quest. We hope you are enjoying the facebook page and make sure you check out our webpage too: www.huntersofreloria.weebly.com Perhaps Marie Antoinette beat me to it, but did she have chocolate mud cake with a book cover on the top? I think not. This will have to be seen (and eaten) to be believed, so make sure you book your tickets to the Elven Jewel book launch. We found a great local business making quality gluten free cakes and can't wait to see what they come up with. My Cake Lady is on Ashmole Road Redcliffe...and they even do High Tea. Sounds like a winner to me. Have a great day, from Kasper. Chapter 1: Set Sail Me hearties, yo ho. “With the sea spray in yer face An’ the glint of gold in yer ear The mainsail’s set And it’s a sure bet We’re a sight that landlubber’s fear “Through the briny blue waters we sail With the skull and bones waving up high From the crow’s nest above To the rat hole below Ev’ry inch my pleasure and pride “From the mists her barbed prow breaks As we swoop o’er the foam All the brigands on-board Sing an awestricken word For our mistress, the sea, is our home Our mistress, the sea, is our home” The crew of the sailing ship The Buccaneer finished off their shanty with a loud ‘Hurrah’. Copyright 2012. Hunters' Quest. Kasper Beaumont Yay! I love this one too. Great painting by the talented Riley Malyon. It's available as Elven Jewel (2) on Amazon.com or send a message to Kasper if you're in Australia. I hope you like it. :-) Two things keep me writing. The first is the sheer pleasure I get from putting my ideas down on paper and finding out where my characters will go. It relaxes me and it is always fun and new. The second incentive is the feedback from my fans and their comments on reading my first two books. I've had requests for a prequel and pleas to hurry up and get them published so the fans can devour them. It's like a dream come true. Righto, gotta get back to Dragon's Revenge ... Have a great weekend, cheers, Kasper I'm continually blown away by the awesome artists I know, including Scott, Mae Mai and Riley. I had the privilege giving both the youngsters a copy of Elven Jewel to read to and show their friends. I think we were all equally excited and had a chat about all the pre-orders coming in for the book. I'm putting in another order for the books due to the amazing response. Writers' Web are also keen and have already put the book up for sale on their website. We were also talking about more artwork for the next book, Hunters' Quest and another art competition coming soon. Oh...goody, goody! Peace all and have a fantastic day, from Kasper. I'm absolutely stoked with the response to the books so far. The Redcliffe Library bought 4 straight away when I went there yesterday to donate a couple to go on the shelves. The school librarian also accepted them with open arm arms when I told her that the year 7 children and their teacher had been pre-publish readers and given me constructive feedback. She asked me to give a talk at the school as well. There have been many offers to buy books before the book launch next month. Can I please ask you to wait and purchase them on the day, so I don't run out? I'll put in another order and hopefully get some more before then as well. It's hard to know how many to print the first time, so fingers crossed these 50 will go and we can order some more. The three artists will all receive royalties from the sales as well, which I am very excited about. The alternative back cover books arrived yesterday with Riley's gorgeous fairy on the back. I'll take some photos later and upload them for you to see. Many thanks for all your support and please come on down to the book launch for your signed copy. Cheers, Kasper. |
