He writes his notes in pencil on A4 pages, so it will take me a while to get it all updated and ready for my wonderful fans to read. Then there will be a 2nd edit and possibly a third. Thank goodness for computers. When Bill used to write it was on typewriters and he would retype the entire story for each edit. I don't know if I have the patience for that! Have a fantastic week, from Kasper.
The editor rang today to say that he's finished his first edit of Hunters' Quest....I'm so excited!!8/12/2013
Wow, things are really happening with the Hunters of Reloria trilogy! I've been looking at publishing sites this weekend to get Elven Jewel printed as a paperback and then I get this wonderful news today. Bill says he really enjoyed the story and can't wait to read book 3. It sounds like I've got some work to do.

I love that ordinary people, even halflings, dwarves and goblins are capable of extraordinary acts of courage and bravery. Characters often write themselves and a little idea can turn into a huge plot twist. Thanks to you all for reading and following my adventures. Cheers, Kasper. PS: Last week's earworm song was Metallica's 'Of Wolf and Man', so I'm not always one for soppy ballads LOL. I received an email from a reader tonight asking for more back stories about the characters. It makes me want to write a prequel, having to think about the decisions they made in life and why they react in certain ways. I reckon it's a good thing to explore the characters in more depth and hopefully I drop more hints about the past into the future stories. Thanks for your interest and I'm so glad that people are engaging with the story. Love this drawing by Riley Malyon by the way. Old Fandri and his fairy sure have an interesting past. It's awesome that 100 people now have a copy of Elven Jewel to read. I really hope you're enjoying it and please do a review as soon as you can. We need reviews so the book has a rating on amazon.com. Please be kind, as it's my first baby and sets the scene for the trilogy. Many thanks from Kasper. http://www.amazon.com/Elven-Jewel-Hunters-Reloria-ebook/dp/B00DPQVEJC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1374881646&sr=8-1&keywords=elven+jewel “Retreat to the inner circle,” yelled Sir Brivan, assisting the wild-eyed King Varl across the bridge towards the inner wall of the citadel. Varl’s sword arm hung limply against his side and he half-dragged one leg behind.
“Retreat!” **Insert cool battles scenes here** Ha ha, it made laugh to see my note, as I rushed on to write something else. Don't worry there's plenty more to come I am having a great time writing and I love doing battles, especially if there's a dragon involved. Woot! On the other hand I may have to get the halflings some maths tutoring, as they think that 2 Tim Tam's each equal an entire packet. I guess they get that from me LOL :-) My son's had two short stories published through writing competitions already and we were talking yesterday about him co-writing my next series. We're coming up with some great ideas and it sounds like a fun project for us to do. What's that saying ... the family that plays together, stays together. Have a great day folks. Elven Jewel by Kasper Beaumont is now available for $3.99 at amazon.com or free in the Kindle Lending Library Hooray! It's finally finished. We've done so much work on the editing and it's looking fantastic! Please have a read a leave some positive comments in the review section. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Hopefully this link will work: http://www.amazon.com/Elven-Jewel-Hunters-Reloria-ebook/dp/B00DPQVEJC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372632756&sr=8-1&keywords=elven+jewel Bill was happy with the last draft of Elven Jewel and there are very few changes to re-type yay! The revised edition of Elven Jewel will be available free to everyone who has purchased it from Writers' Web. Thanks all for your continuing support. I surprised Bill by printing Hunters' Quest (book 2) for him to read and he offered to edit that one too. He says I have a big future in writing and my writing is improving already. Some days I agree with all my editor's suggestions and some days I have to dig my heels in and say, "This is the way it's going to be." I guess the only one who really knows the fantasy world is the author, and while most of the time he is 100% right, some times I've just gotta go with with my heart. A book is a big part of you and it's a wonderful thing to be able to share with others. Happy reading, from Kasper. |
