4 stars The genre of this series is fantasy and the author did a fantastic job with his literary and character descriptions, December 7, 2014 by Princess Penelope This is the first book in the Hunters of Reloria trilogy written by Kasper Beaumont. The genre of this series is fantasy and the author did a fantastic job with his literary and character descriptions, providing enough information to each fanciful race that one not normally affiliated with fantasy would be able to understand and even associate with some of the characters on a personal level, without it becoming so informative that it became lull. |
The story is one that produces and action packed saga while bringing different people with different beliefs together for the common goal of safety from a cold blooded reptilian race that has destroyed their own resources and are now out to simply take away from others. There was also a love triangle of small proportion in the beginning that kept readers interested as well and we all waited to see which boy the huntress was actually interested in. I found the huntress to be the most fascinating character in this story and enjoyed how much dedication the author put into her backstory and showing her multifaceted personality.
It was also nice to see the message that some of the characters turned out to be nothing like the rest of their race was considered to be like and how people should be given a chance to prove themselves different. There was a brilliant mixture of opposite type characters and things were kept peaceful by just that-the peaceful ones, and the while the egotistical meat headed knights and mountain man called a verbal truce; it was still interesting to see the tension between them still bubble to the surface.
The book ended with a wonderful conclusion that was loose enough that it left you wondering what happened to the princess and I look forward to reading the second one in this trilogy to find out! Overall I have given this book a 4 star rating. You can follow the link below to allow this book to infiltrate your mind as well.
